Chef Guichard "Chef G" Ulysse — a Haitian-born culinary leader trained at Johnson & Wales — opened House 509 with partner Jessica Charles, naming the restaurant after a number that kept appearing in their lives: their house number, Haiti's country code, and the date Ulysse moved to South Carolina, May 2009.
The concept is flight-style dining — entree flights and dessert flights, each consisting of three small portions of different dishes with a recommended wine trio.
